Abstract:
Ransomware attacks have impacted industries around the globe. With the loss of sensitive information and regular operation disruption, it is estimated to be responsible for the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

Ransomware is designed to utilize robust algorithms to encrypt data. It can spread through critical vulnerabilities in the network, especially through malicious email attachments. It is used to attack a wide range of targets, from personal computers to large business servers and networks, often resulting in blocked access to files and a notification demanding payment. The introduction of cryptocurrencies has provided attackers the added advantage of anonymity. Also, paying the ransom amount does not guarantee the restoration of the encrypted file.

In this webinar, we will dive into the history of ransomware attacks (Petya, WannaCry, and others), preventive measures, and how to enhance network security in organizations.
