Topic Abstract:
This presentation aims to provide an overview of how to enable the organization to have actionable items in defining their DDOS strategy. A security leader should evaluate controls within his organization, know its environment where they have been fully / partially outsourcing their defenses leaving gaps in their DDoS protection strategy. Many organizations are working on a layered defense approach which is a key against such attacks. A proactive defense which is ideally assumed as the automated technical solution is not only about the product but is about business dynamics, people, process, and technology.
Although the investment in DDoS solutions is enormous, it also provides peace of mind. With the most suitable solution adoption and monitoring solution in place, organizations can proactively prevent and respond to risks in real-time. Without proactive protection of the traffic flows that are not under attack, they will start experiencing substantial packet loss, if these flows pass through links common to attack routes, resulting in significant collateral damage. Hence it is important for a strategist to understand how to evaluate providers, what solution approach fits best, what risk acceptance level to improve business continuity and above all how can he keep things simple.
